  • About The Role

  • Are you an experienced Quarry Manager ready to take full ownership of a thriving sand and gravel operation?


    We have a rare and exciting opportunity to lead site operations at our Laleham Quarry here at Brett, this is a key site producing 300kt per annum, supplying both internal and external customers.

     

    As Quarry Manager, you’ll be appointed under Quarry Regulations 8.1c and take full accountability for the safe, efficient, and profitable running of the site. Reporting to the Area Operations Manager, you’ll lead a team of direct and indirect reports, oversee contractors, and drive continuous improvement across operations, SHEQ performance, and site development.

     

    About your role:

    • You’ll take full responsibility for the quarry and site operations in line with Quarry Regulations/Legislations
    • Lead from the front to ensure a safe, efficient, and profitable operation is across all site activities.
    • Be an advocate for SHEQ performance, helping us to drive continuous improvement and fostering a strong safety-first culture.
    • Deliver operational perfection through efficiency and energy improvement initiatives, enhancing productivity and sustainability.
    • Provide key liaison across our inbound and outbound materials, maintaining quality and supply consistency.
    • Build and manage strong relationships with internal and external customers, ensuring an outstanding service is provided and an operational alignment.
    • Support CAPEX projects and ongoing development plans for the site.

     

    What we are looking for:

    • Proven experience as a Quarry Manager with a current or previous Reg 8.1c appointment.
    • Strong leadership in SHE management, with excellent working knowledge of SHE legislation and best practices.
    • QCF Level 6 SHE Management qualification (or a willingness to work towards it).
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills — able to manage multiple priorities and lead teams effectively.
    • Hands-on experience in Sand & Gravel processing operations.
